Electric Roller Screens and Motorised Roller Screens for Large-Scale Projections in Event Venues

For more than 25 years, multi-purpose halls, event centres as well as schools, universities and congress centres have relied on large motorised projection screens for front and rear projection from TÜCHLER.

As a manufacturer, in addition to standard sizes and styles, we are happy to provide custom solutions for special demands such as high rolling speeds, extremely large formats, lightweight construction, etc.
TÜCHLER is your single source for roller screens, covering everything from the construction to the welding of the projection surfaces to the mechanics and control systems.
In addition to being used as classic roller screen projection surfaces, TÜCHLER motorised screens are also used in stage sets, shows and as backdrop rollers screens in small stages.

Type: ROLLER SCREEN T-ROLL

Roller screen type “T-ROLL” is perfect for projection widths of 10 metres and more. Standard TÜCHLER T-ROLL systems are available up to a projection width of 20 metres. Greater widths are possible depending on the technical conditions of the venue.

System Description:

The top of the roller screen projection surface is integrated into a carrier made of square pipe. This square pipe carrier also contains the motor unit and the mechanism that moves the drive cables and pulleys. The square pipe carrier is attached to the building in at least two locations according to the static requirements. The winding shaft is located at the lower edge of the projection surface and contains a single-layer cable drum on both sides of the outer edges. The drive cables run from the drive mechanism via pulleys from the square pipe carrier to the side of the projection screen to the winding shaft and are rolled up there on the cable drums in the direction opposite to the screen. In the lowest position, the projection surface is unrolled from the shaft with the exception of a few safety windings and the drive cable is completely rolled up on the cable drums. When the drive cables are pulled up, they roll off the cable drum and thereby drive the winding shaft, which causes the projection surface to wind up. The winding shaft “climbs” into the upper end position, carried by the projection surface and drive cables. The construction includes two more safety cables to prevent the winding shaft and cable drums from crashing down should the projection screen be damaged resulting in it tearing off. These wrap parallel to the projection screen and secure the winding shaft against falling in the event of damage. This entire system is designed in accordance with DIN 56950-4 and can therefore be used in event venues.

Type: ELECTRIC ROLLER SCREEN SUPERFLAT

Roller screen type “SUPERFLAT” is perfect for projection widths of up to 10 metres.

System description:

The top of the roller screen projection surface is attached to a winding shaft at its upper edge. The shaft itself is in a square pipe frame that is typically mounted on the left and right sides. A motor drive unit attached directly to the shaft rolls the projection surface up and down.
A drop bar is at the lower edge of the projection surface. Its ends protrude from the left and right sides of the screen and are attached to a tensioning cable. These cables run from the ends of the drop bar up to the winding shaft and are firmly attached to both. The projection screen itself is attached to these tensioning cables with straps at fixed intervals so that this tensioning cable follows an arcuate course. The tension of the cable transmits tension into the projection surface via the straps, which ensures a permanently, perfectly flat surface. It should be noted that this flatness is achieved within a defined distance from the outer edge of the screen. The outer edge itself is uneven due to the tensioning straps and is not suitable for projection. The use of a black mask painted on the projection surface is advisable, provided the side edges are not covered in some other way, for example by means of a cover or curtain system.

Motorleinwand SEMINAR

Type: ELECTRIC ROLLER SCREEN SEMINAR

Roller screen type “SEMINAR” is perfect for projection widths of up to 10 metres.

System description:

The top of the roller screen projection surface is attached to a winding shaft at its upper edge. The shaft itself is in a square pipe frame that is typically mounted on the left and right sides. A motor drive unit attached directly to the shaft rolls the projection surface up and down.
A drop bar is attached at the bottom edge of the projection surface that tensions the screen downwards. Unlike the “SUPERFLAT” screen, there is no side tensioning system. Therefore, this system can not achieve the same degree of flatness and it may vary over time so that perfect flatness is not guaranteed. Since neither tensioning devices nor pull cables are used, this type of roller screen is the most compact construction in terms of the ratio of case width to projection width.
