ECOGARD®: The latest generation of flame retardants.
All ECOGARD® products combine the safest flame retardant, highest environmental and skin tolerance and are easy to use. All ECOGARD® flame retardant products are undiluted and ready for use and can be applied directly.
All ECOGARD® products are permanently flame retardant provided the object they have been applied too is not soaked or washed.
A subsequent impregnation is not necessary as long as the item is not soaked or washed.

Standard materials that can be impregnated with ECOGARD® flame retardants include those made of cotton, wool, synthetic fibres and blends. Furthermore, many types of wood, cardboard and paper as well as straw and reed can be made flame retardant with ECOGARD® flame retardants.
ECOGARD® BioPlus flame retardant
is halogen-free and dermatologically tested. ECOGARD® BioPlus flame retardant is particularly gentle on people and the environment. ECOGARD® BioPlus flame retardant protects all absorbent natural materials. The modern formula of ECOGARD® BioPlus flame retardant leaves materials soft to the touch and prevents the formation of salt rings and other stains upon reapplication. The active ingredient in ECOGARD BioPlus is certified according to the general appraisal certificate in accordance with DIN 4102 B1 and dermatologically tested in accordance with the OECD 404 standard.
ECOGARD® B45 flame retardant
is the universal flame retardant. ECOGARD® B45 flame retardant protects all absorbent natural materials as well as a wide range of synthetic materials. Adding ECOGARD® B45 to emulsion and latex paints will turn your normally flammable paints into a flame retardant impregnation. The high wetting ability of ECOGARD® B45 flame retardant makes it possible to make even less absorbent objects like straw or reeds flame retardant. The modern formula of ECOGARD® B45 flame retardant leaves materials soft to the touch and prevents the formation of salt rings and other stains upon reapplication. The active ingredient in ECOGARD B45 is certified according to the general appraisal certificate in accordance with DIN 4102 B1 and dermatologically tested in accordance with the OECD 404 standard.
ECOGARD® Cell flame retardant
is the special flame retardant for materials consisting mainly of cellulose. ECOGARD® Cell flame retardant is halogen-free and therefore particularly environmentally friendly. ECOGARD® Cell flame retardant protects all absorbent materials and decorative items made of wood, paper and cardboard. The halogen-free formula of ECOGARD® B45 flame retardant leaves materials soft to the touch and prevents the formation of salt rings and other stains upon reapplication.ECOGARD® Cell flame retardant is certified in accordance with ÖNORM A3800, B1, Q1, Tr1.
How do I use ECOGARD flame retardants?
All flame retardants are liquid, similar to water, and can be applied using suitable spraying devices. Spray on the flame retardant product in accordance with the specifications, allow to dry well and you are done!
In some cases, the item being treated must be completely immersed in the flame retardant. You can find details on this with the respective flame retardant product.
All flame retardants can also be applied mechanically by professional textile finishing companies.
Which fire classes can I achieve when impregnating items with flame retardant on my own?
Depending on the material, if used correctly, all common fire classes, such as flame retardant in accordance with DIN 4102 B1, flame retardant in accordance with ÖNORM B1-Q1-TR1 or fire classes in accordance with various classes in accordance with EN13501 can be achieved.
A precise statement as to which fire class was achieved after treatment can only be made by a fire test in a certified fire laboratory.
For some flame retardants, such as the ECOGARD B45, there is a general building inspection report in accordance with DIN 4102.
