Velvet for Stage Curtains and Theater Drapes Made from B1 Flame-Retardant Velvet – Custom Sizes Available!

We supply flame-retardant stage and theater velvets by the meter or ready-made to your specifications.

Stage curtains – especially main curtains – as well as theater and opera drapes are made from velvet for good reason: no other fabric can be produced in such deep black, and no other material combines such color richness with a silky sheen like B1 stage velvet.

Order fabric by the meter for DIY sewing or custom-made stage curtains crafted from premium stage velvet.

We stock many of our stage and theater velvets in standard colors in large quantities! We’re also happy to dye your desired color on request.

What are theatre velvets?

Stage velvets or theatre velvets are selected velvets with a reinforced backing so that maximum curtain heights are safely feasible. All stage velvets (theatre velvets) are flame-retardant and certified in accordance with fire behaviour standards (DIN: flame retardant, EN: fire class, Austria: flame retardant).

Did you know that...

  • ... The use of heavy yarn in the pile or inexpensive chemicals can lead to relatively high surface weights with otherwise low quality or high crease behaviour? The high strength properties and outstanding crease behaviour of our stage velvets are a true sign of their quality!
  • ... Velvets have excellent acoustic properties? Velvets can reduce reverberations and echoes and thus optimize the acoustics of your room.
    That is why we provide acoustic measurement certificates for most TÜCHLER velvets.
