TopKAT BASIC Direct Control Chain Hoist Controller, 8 Channels

The TopKAT BASIC Direct Control 8-Channel Chain Hoist Controller is a robust and cost-effective control solution for the professional operation of up to eight DC Chain Hoists (Direct Control Chain Hoists). It has been developed for users who require a clear, reliable and easy-to-operate controller for daily use in live event production, theatres, studios, exhibition construction and entertainment rigging applications.

The complete system is housed in a durable black controller road case and is designed for mobile use. Four heavy-duty swivel castors, two of which are fitted with brakes, facilitate transport and positioning on site. In addition, four recessed carrying handles ensure convenient handling during loading and unloading. All hardware, handles and metal components are finished in black and feature a black powder-coated coating.

Operation is carried out via eight individually selectable channels. Each chain hoist is equipped with its own selector switch featuring Up, 0 (Neutral) and Down positions. The selected chain hoists are then moved simultaneously using the central travel push button. An emergency stop, main power switch and power status indicators provide a clear and intuitive operating concept.

To protect the control elements, the front panel is equipped with a removable cover. An integrated service access flap allows access to the selector switches without removing the complete lid. This keeps the controls protected even during operation.

The chain hoist connections are located on the rear of the controller. Two multipin connectors are provided for channel groups Motor 1–4 and Motor 5–8. Using the supplied breakout cables, the connections are distributed to a total of eight 4-pin CEE chain hoist connectors (4 × 1.5 mm²). This allows up to eight DC Chain Hoists to be connected in a practical and organised manner.

An integrated storage compartment for the breakout cables is located beneath the connection panel. This enables the controller and connection accessories to be transported and stored together while saving space. It also supports fast setup and dismantling as well as efficient cable management.

Power is supplied via a 5-pin CEE 32 A connector at 400–415 V AC, 3-phase, 50–60 Hz. Phase correction can be carried out manually via the power connector. For electrical protection, the controller is equipped with one circuit breaker for each group of two chain hoists. Maximum channel capacity is up to 20 kW per channel, while the total available power is determined by the connected 32 A power supply.
